Tour de Palm Springs
Description The event was started to promote having fun while pedaling a bicycle far enough to amaze friends and co-workers while at the same time, volunteering for a good cause. The first Tour de Palm Springs began in 1998 with just over 300 riders when Tim Esser rode his bicycle solo from Palm Springs, CA to Jacksonvile, FL for charity. Today, the Tour hosts nearly 8,000 riders of all ages and abilities. 2009 Ride Information Friday, February 13, 2009: Palm Springs Convention Center located at 277 N. Avenida Caballeros in Palm Springs, CA. 12:00 noon - 5:00 p.m. Bicycle Expo Come visit the many bike-related apparel and equipment booths. 12:00 noon - 9:00 p.m. Late Registration and Packet Pick-up If you pre-registered, you may pick up your packet during this time. 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Pasta Dinner Live Entertainment, Silent & Live Auctions $10 for Adults and $5 for Children under 12 - Casual Dress Saturday, February 14, 2009: Downtown Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive 7:00 am to 9:30 a.m. Start Times 100 mile, 7:00 a.m., $60 55 mile, 8:00 a.m., $55 25 mile, 9:00 a.m., $40 10 mile, 9:30 a.m., $25 5 mile, 9:30 a.m., $25 Wrist bands required in order to enter SAG stops for food, water and bike support. 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Bicycle Expo and Live Entertainment 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tour de Jazz

Comments The ride is conveniently located in downtown Palm Springs. From West Take I-10 East Exit Hwy 111 / Palm Springs (continue for 9.7 miles) Hwy 111 turns into N. Palm Canyon (continue 1.0 miles) Turn left at Alejo (.6 miles) Turn right at Avenida Caballeros and follow signage to parking and registration. From East Take I-10 West Exit Gene Autry Trail/Palm Drive - turn left (continue for 2.5 miles) Turn right on Vista Chino (continue for 1.3 miles) Turn left at Sunrise Way (continue for 1.3 miles) Turn right at Amado Road Turn left at Avenida Caballeros and ollow signage to parking and registration. Parking Free parking is available at the Convention Center.
