March Triathlon Series
|
Description |
Sprint and Olympic Distance Triathlons
The March Triathlon Series is the longest running collegiate triathlon in the West Coast. According to the MTS history (which really does exist), the event started as a senior project in 1998. The event started out on campus and had a total of 15 participants from Cal Poly, Santa Barbara, and Cal Berkeley. The sprint race served as a warm up (hence the name, "March Warm-Up") for Wildflower, which was collegiate nationals at the time. Eventually, the race grew and moved to Lake Lopez, Arroyo Grande in 2004, where it transformed into the March Triathlon Series. An olympic course was added, called the March In Motion. This year marks the 6th Annual March Triathlon Series. |
